As a marketing manager of content, I’m always looking for ways to improve the content ratings. Especially if it involves increasing the last post, as opposed to writing new content. That Digital Marketing Company in Bath is why I am very interested in Neil Patel’s suggestion that all I need to do to see a jump on the SERP sign in to Google Webmaster Tools (GSC) and integrates multiple queries into my content.

Sounds very simple.

Experimenting with this methodology (more about what we do below), we decided to try it on one of our own blog post that does not seem to rank as we wished.

CONSOLE SEARCH HOW WE USED TO IMPROVE OUR CONTENT
Neil Patel appropriate advice, we want to use the “query” in Google Search Console to find out what words people are typing in to find a specific part of our content.

Analyzing this question, we then want to improve their rankings. To do this, we should naturally integrate new keywords to our content.

USING THE CONSOLE FOR KEYWORD SEARCH

Go to Search Console
Click the ‘Performance’ on the left side
Click “+ NEW ‘in the filter at the top (highlighted in yellow below)

Select the option “URL is exactly”
Enter the URL of your blog post
Scroll down to the tab “query” – these are the keywords driving traffic to your post
Select the most relevant terms consistent with the intent of your post
Go into your blog posts and add content to it, in order to NATURALLY enter key terms in your post

IMPROVING OUR POST
After following the steps listed above, we take the phrase we find the most relevant to our post, and should work on updating our old content.

bulbREBOOT light TIP: Just because you click the “publish” on a piece of content does not mean you have to wash your hands of it. You need to constantly re-visiting the post, SERP position tracking it and optimize it for keywords, the piece features or new information about your topic.
Keeping your content fresh is good because not only will help your rankings, but it will help you maintain your SERP position as well. Plus it is easier than writing a completely new content!

We went back to visit our blog posts, armed with half a dozen questions that we would like to incorporate into our content.

To avoid keyword stuffing, we expanded the number of words to integrate more natural phrases – a key element of this trial, and content marketing in general. We are equally sure that all new editions to post useful, interesting and answer search intent, rather than written for the sake of it.

While updating the post with the new keywords, we also enhanced by removing stock photos, graphics and replace it with our own, and provide better post structure.

RESULTS
It’s a little search console hack works just as promised. We see the ranking for keywords increases, as well as traffic blog post. We even got a piece of the feature after making changes!

Not only do we rank for keywords, but our position has improved as well. Good news.
